DowntownMy Father and I went for a walk today in Downtown. We had lunch in a little place called “Al Balal”. Small, and simple, it was on one of the roads branching out from the clock tower. The whole place was empty. Half of the restaurants and shops had closed since those damn tents were set up. Imagine. People who have no reason to be there. It’s not as if they don’t have houses and jobs and lives. They are not refugees. They are not poor. They are not desperate. They are just selfish. And so they set up their tents in the middle of downtown, to make nuisances of themselves. I often wish a flood would come and wash them all awa Downtown

MandarinIt’s nearly 1 a.m. I don’t seem to register the time here. I push my thumb under the skin of the fruit, and inhale as the tangy scent bursts up. The glare of the screen allows me to see through the piece I have pulled off. Orange and plump, the stringy white bits stand out like veins, creating a pretty stained glass effect.  This piece, like many of the others, is pregnant with a large pip. I suck it into my mouth, crushing it against my tongue and smile as the juice floods my mouth. I picked a sweet one. I love Mandarins. Can’t seem to get enough of them. I think this is my 5th today. I am starting a Masters course in one month. I need library books. I have lost my student card. Bollox. I'm slightly terrified, but I'm sure it will be alright. Attempting sort of half-heartedly to write a couple of plays, one for a friend and one thats been in my brain for over a year. Damn my procrastination! Damn it to hell I say! Had a nice break out in Spain with my family, and a few friends came over so I wasn't by myself for once. I wish I knew who else was doing this Masters. I know one other person, well, I know who he is and I've seen him around. I'm sure there will be people from other colleges as well. I seem to have found about 20 books I can possibly read for this course, from the authors I got from one of the professors, and I am sincerily glad my limit on books I can take out from the library has been upped from 6 to I think 15. And since I doubt I can read more than 15 books in a week, I don't think it's a problem that I have found more than that that I could read. I am going to have to get a new student card tomorrow. One for 2007/2008 hopefully. I'll be damned if I'm going to get one for the next few weeks and then get another one for the next semester. I am going to finish writing down these titles and go to bed. A sleep deprived self is of no use to me. I am NOT going to fuck up this year. Not one little bit.

Hello random deviant :) my slice of earth (currently Paris) is very nice, am going out for ice cream and cinema. Going back to Ireland at the end of the week, where it is pouring rain! Huzzah!

Yes, rain in the summer unfortunately is the norm in Ireland. At least you have snow in the winter though. We jsut have...more rain. And wind and freezing cold temperature.

Ice cream and Harry Potter were good I have to say :) It's nice to be home though!
